Turtles, and Mud, and Dirt, Oh My!

This week has been spring break.  The boys have had so much time, just being boys.  Garrett, Tripp, and I put this terrarium together, and Garrett volunteered his animals to live in it.

There are a lion (Aslan), a bear, and a rhino in the terrarium.

The beginning of this week we went to Grandmama and Grandaddy's house.  On the way we found three turtles crossing the road.  We I helped the little one cross the road per orders of the bosses in my backseat, and we took the big ones to Grandaddy's house.  We were afraid they were snapping turtles, but were very relieved they were not.

Tripp is a turtle at school, this picture goes out to Ms. Sandy and Ms. Michelle

Garrett wants to be like the Crocodile Hunter when he grows up.  Here he is practicing his skills and his bravery.

Aiden and Kale

Aiden and this turtle were nose to nose for quite a while.  I think the turtle got tired of being stared at because Aiden came in and told us that when the turtle came out of its shell it was charging and chasing after him.

Afterwards they decided that since it was in the seventies outside, it was too hot for clothes, and needed to cool off in the ditch.  All four boys participated, Aiden, Garrett, Kale, and Tripp, but Aiden requested that I not put him in his under ware on the internet.  He thought it might be embarrassing.  There was lots of splashing, dancing and running through the water.  I love that even though they played in mud, somehow my boys didn't look dirty, compared with Aiden and Kale who were obviously filthy.

Notice the nice, white, clean under ware...

Tripp didn't like how his under ware kept leaking.

Aiden lining them all up

There goes Tripp...

...followed by Kale...

...then Garrett...

...and with the biggest splash of all, Aiden.

Dirty Brothers

After they had all had baths, the boys went out to get into more mud and dirt.  Tripp liked just playing basketball and riding his bike, while the older boys drove the four wheelers around the yard.  Grandaddy took all the little boys out on the big four wheeler when he got home.

This was too funny to watch.  The power wheel four wheeler didn't have enough juice to go through the mud holes, so either Garrett or Kale would push the other through, or they would get off and push themselves.

Yes, I know Garrett's shirt is backwards.  He wears them that way on purpose because he wants the boring side in the back and the cool side on the front.

When we got home, they both slept late the next day!  That never happens! Happy spring break to me!
