Garrett has been on a healthy kick lately. I have an app that grades your food, and he loves to go around and tell us what we can and can't eat that is in our kitchen. He has also been schooling us on the food groups, and how much of each group we should be eating. Apparently we eat too much from the "sometimes" group. However, that is the best part about camp, is all the "sometimes" foods we get to eat. Granny brought her punch, and we cooked enough meat to feed an army. It was great!
I was trying to get a picture of his red lips.
Look at all that yumminess! Can you believe there were only 7 adults there to eat all that!?!
Another fun thing about camp is driving around in all the cool vehicles, or at least pretending to. We also, go a little crazy.
Because of all the "wild" animals (my children included) we tend to be heavily armed at camp. Here are Cody and Garrett having a little target practice. I think Garrett's favorite part was checking the target. After every shot he would have to check, even if it was very obvious that it was a miss.
(it is a BB gun)
Tripp finally realized he was being left out, so he brought his own gun to the party.
Gotta love the face
After all that target practice, the two hunters thought they were up for a little wild game. They hunted lions, black bears, rattle snakes, and deers. Man at the stories. Garrett told Gabby and I this one story about all of us at the beaver dam, surrounded by a herd of a dozen snakes, that ate all of us, except Garrett, who beat up all the snakes, and made the snakes spit the rest of us out, so he could eat the snakes, and save the day.
Aiming at a "wild cat" in the tree
Running to the scene of the crime
Recounting all the stories
In Garrett's defense, we did all go to the beaver dam. However, we weren't surrounded, or eaten. I think that's a good thing. We did find lots of evidence of beavers, and picked up a few sticks to prove it.
Because of the burn ban, we of course did not put any wood with this gasoline, and we absolutely did not have a fire. Instead we had fun swinging, and gazing at the stars while dad played his guitar, in the dark.
By the way, this was all Derek's idea, and it didn't explode like we thought it would, when we didn't light it.
Looking at the stars
And now it is time to head home, we had fun, but were looking forward to getting back. This is the lively crew as we pulled out of the drive...
And this is them, not even five minutes later. Man I love camp!
