Until Next Time, Hawaii

The evening before we left to come home we spent at the Polynesian Cultural Center.  It was lots of fun.  We saw lots of dancing, and different things special to each of the islands around as well as Hawaii.   We also were able to attend a luau.
They had a canoe parade where all the islands were represented by native college kids there for school.  They could receive money for school by working there.

This guy climbed the tree so fast, and with no ropes!

On our way to dinner it decided to pour!  We were a little soaked.  The leis they gave us were made from real flowers, so pretty.
Our dinner.

The last day we were there we went to Honolulu and visited the aquarium, walked Waikiki, and visited the Pali lookout before going to get on the plane.  I was so glad that we didn't stay at Waikiki.  It was so crowded!  People were everywhere, you couldn't walk without bumping into someone.  I did however see the best panhandler sign ever, and I wish I had gotten a picture.  He was laying asleep on the side walk with a sign that said, "Need money for pot."  We walked down the strip, ate, shopped and walked back and he was still passed out on the sidewalk.  Cody thought maybe we should have checked to see if he was still alive.

Seal at the aquarium.
This was in the middle of Waikiki, and it was closed down for repairs, but we couldn't figure out what it was.  When we got to the airport there was a display with this in a picture.  It was their swim school.  People would come here to train in order to swim to some of the other islands.  Most were in the 7-9miles apart range, but there was one that was 22miles.
Pali Lookout.

It was so windy, but beautiful!

You could hike this trail, and if you look close at the middle of the point on the right side you can see some one on it.  We didn't even know this was here until the last day.  We happened upon it as we were leaving.
